The North west group where warmly welcomed by the Porter family Alan, Nat and Nick.
We started off with a tour of the new nursery, great thought had gone into the layout to maximise efficiency. A network of conveyor belts moved the plants through the site allowing for easy loading and unloading.
After some refreshments we had three speakers on the subject of sustainability.
Andrea Marshall from Sinclair brought us up to date with the latest peat free news.
Pete Wessel and Shaun Herdsman from Modiform gave an overview of the plastic and packaging waste problems coming our way. PRN and EPR costs are going to considerable in the future and need to be factored into future pricing
Steve Ellison from Elbert Smitt showed us how new enviromental products could reduce plastic waste.
